After a two week recruiting trip to the USA, Eliza Long has settled on Baylor University as her choose place to study and continue her tennis development. After hopping from University to University (New Orleans, Florida and Texas) to meet and be shown around, Eliza settled on the decision that in 2014, she will take up a scholarship position at the prestigious university and represent the Baylor Bears Women Tennis Team while studying Physiotherapy.
Baylor University is a private Baptist university in Waco, Texas. Chartered in 1845 by the Republic of Texas, Baylor is the oldest university in Texas and was one of the first educational institutions west of the Mississippi River. The university’s 1,000-acre campus is located on the banks of the Brazos River next to freeway I-35, between the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and Austin.
The Tennis program has had much success in the past both in the men’s and women’s teams and the facilities and coaching team are world class. They are a Division 1 NCAA team ranked in the top 35 in the women’s and top 20 in the men’s divisions. Below is a link for more information (there is a great Video Tour of the facilities)
