Ladies from both the Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club and Altona Tennis Club came togther to take to the Blue courts of Melbourne Park. The ladies played a variety of games in a relaxed format with the winner being Mary Mack and the runner up Claire Calcutt.
Sam Groth, a former Vida player and member of the winning state grade team at the Veneto Club in 2005, dropped in before starting his practice session and meet the group. Sam this year broke the world record for the fastest ever recorded serve when he posted a 263km/h bullett in Japan. This was 12km/h faster than Andy Roddick’s previous fastest. Sam will now train in preparation for the Australian summer circuit.
